Dear Senators:
We, the undersigned Board of Directors of Women in Training, Inc., respectfully ask that you vote YES to support House Bill 50 introduced by Representative Rolanda Hollis. This bill allows for the Alabama State Department of Education to offer grants to Title I public schools to enable them to provide menstrual hygiene products to students throughout the state. Almost 25 percent of Alabama’s students live in poverty. This means more than 50,000 of our state’s 218,000 menstruating students could be positively impacted when this bill becomes law!
HB 50 passed unanimously in the House of Representatives on March 1, 2022, with more than 50 Representatives signing on as co-sponsors. Please review this news broadcast about the House’s Way and Means Education Committee successful HB 50 hearing on February 23, 2022.
Thank you for your support of Alabama’s students. Honor the underserved girls and young women of Alabama by voting YES to HB 50.

We look forward to meeting you at the State House.
